I'm Herm, also called HellMutt. I work for a major broadcaster as a web assistant, which isn't an editorial role. I follow my employer's very sensible fair usage and social media policies. The views expressed in my blog are my own, not my employer's.I'm an occasional comedic poet and enjoy mocking things that are close to my shrivelled granitic heart or otherwise deserve it.
I think dogs are brilliant, particularly large ones but I'm not fussy. Other fantastic animals are red pandas and pangolins.
I don't like kitties, which is why so many of my friends seem to be them.
In addition, I am officially Best-Man, the best superhero ever, and had to get in a link to this somewhere because it's adorable.

Why "Nona dolorosa, mate"?
When I chose that title I'd just read an unremarkable science fiction novel called Out on Blue Six (now remarkably difficult to get hold of), in which there was a hand gesture called the Nona Dolorosa, which more or less meant "Don't grief me, man". I added "mate" because it made an aesthetically pleasing jumble of words. And my journal is still titled this because when I get an inkling to change it, I can't think of anything better.A Straunge and Terrible Wunder is a reference to the Black Dog of Bungay.
