Yes! Slennishness! Get it while it's hardcore!
~5MB mp3 file Title and info are in the id3v1 tag.
Slen apologises for the clipping and the vocals.
(This is a Coral CDN link, so be patient if it takes a while to download; have a thought for my bandwidth.)

Over the weekend, with some random bloke my sometime-bandmate knows, I watched a DVD of Green Day in concert. They are good. They are also in their 30s and still dressing in punk skinny ties, which is a little creepy. But more importantly, they're good.
I also finally saw Pirates 3 and was favourably entertained. (Three hours, though! I'd forgotten that little warning, and consequently we missed the last bus home.)
There's quite a lot of good stuff coming out in cinemas this summer, and also Firehouse Dog, which I truly am going to see.
It's not burning a hole in my pocket (pun unintentional), really, but I'm also moving towards finally shelling out for a new system. You may detect a pronounced lack of urgency. I'm reasonably mobile in recent days with PortableApps on my eight gig USB stick (which I have heathenned "Tack", a questionable namesake from a book called Cowl, because of a derivation I've forgotten). And anyway, at the moment I don't have much to PUT on it, except backing up my private TiddlyWiki.
Oh! And we found a miniature iPod on the seat of the taxi. Slen pelted after the people who got out of the taxi before us, but they said it wasn't theirs. From the disk's name it belonged to someone called Jan, but there's no further information to be found on the thing (note to self, put my email address in the notes folder on mine), so... we're up one miniature iPod. Slen's all excited because it has Tenacious D's Pick of Destiny album on there and he hasn't got that yet.
It's the summer holidays, which I didn't notice because I'm doing real-person work instead of education or teaching. I want to do some music-making, but bandmate's contribution seems very doubtful. It's not that he says he's not interested; worse than that, he says "yeah yeah, I want to" then delays and breaks promises. So for now I'm disregarding him, which means it's just me and Slen with his PC, guitars, synthdrum kit, Casio keyboard and a midi-USB hub. He's used Cubase a little bit on his music performance NVQ, is a competent guitarist and understands all these key arpeggio signature harmonic tonal theory thingies, but other than that we're total n00bs, especially me — so anyone wanting to give us kindly-meant tips, or even collab on something, will be hailed as most awesome. Once I've got over dying at my craptacular voice, anyway.
Most importantly, what should we call ourselves? ;) I can't think of anything that applies to both of us; I like dogs, he likes tigers... I do like Charlie's suggestion of "Pyroclasm", if only the word didn't feel a little bit smutty to my mind. Hmm. "Best-Man and Night-Win"? That would put the kibosh on our secret identities, though.
And now my Egyptian 'zodiac'. Meme from (who else?) Reebee-Miu.

So I went and belied myself: I could not, after all, wait until I got home to listen. And nor should you, even if you're already there:
Miniluvvly Myspace page with rock-breakcore-punk for listen for great justice!
The latest version of Airstrip One pretty much has my ears going OH GODS YES. Much more complete, er, spherical, er, ear-cuddling sound? (fails at music crit, blames autistic sensory craziness, backtracks so it doesn't sound like only people with bad hearing will like this music, gives up and stops digging himself deeper into rhetorical hole)
My main gripe, as ever, is that I like unobstructed vocals so I can hear, learn and parrot the words. Naturally I am a hundred per cent hypocritical in this, and if my voice ever shows up on anything again *coughs in bandmate's direction* I will be wanting it auged, disguised and distorted to all hell. (Is there a filter that can make a deep, rich thrum out of my lisping nasal whine, I wonder?)
In completely other news, my brother shouted at a Nolan. I am so embarrassed XD \m/
